Silver Art Projects is pleased to welcome 24 new artists as part of its fifth annual cohort. As a not-for-profit arts charity that relies upon the generosity of its patrons, Silver Art is supported by its Board of Directors, Advisory Board, donors, foundations, and granting organizations.
These artists, who were selected by art world luminaries Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, Magnus Resch, Steve Wilson, Caledonia "Swoon" Curry, Eddie Martinez, Allison Glenn, and Ernestine White-Mifetu span disciplines and backgrounds, show growth and success in the fields of painting, photography, sculpture, installation and more. Due to the overwhelming response, the open call for 2025 necessitated an application fee. Hundreds of highly qualified artists applied.
At Silver Art Projects, the selected artists will be given the opportunity to expand their practice and amplify their work without the impediment of expensive New York City studio space. Selected for their extraordinary artistic excellence, need for the studio space and potential to maximize the opportunity, this year's participants will each receive 500-1,000 square feet of free studio space at 4 World Trade Center, as well as mentorship, peer-to-peer advising, a financial stipend, career workshops and networking opportunities with leading museum directors, curators and other professionals in the art industry - all with the aim of helping the artists build sustainable, successful long-term art practices. Four artists in each cohort come from backgrounds impacted by the criminal justice system.
